The Brand of the Absolute

The Brand of the Absolute is an optional Passive Feature that leads to unique dialogue options and powerful item interactions.

See Category:Absolute Equipment for a list of items that interact with the brand.

Becoming Branded

A character may become branded by speaking to Gut in the Shattered Sanctum. After branding you, she will attempt to mentally connect to your parasite and ask you to join her in her private chapel. If you do this, Gut will no longer offer to brand additional characters.

Any number of characters may receive the brand by switching the active character and speaking to Gut again (if she is still present in the main hall) or alternatively by speaking to Warlock Greez.

As of Early Access Patch 9, there are no mechanical or story drawbacks to becoming branded, but this is unlikely to remain true in the full release of the game.

Notes and Trivia

Concentration Icons.png Spoiler warning! This section reveals details about the story of Baldur's Gate 3.

The Brand of the Absolute bears a striking resemblance to the symbols of the Dead Three: the black hand of Bane, the skull of Bhaal, and the triangle-inset skull of Myrkul. The significance of this resemblance has yet to be revealed in Early Access.
