You must be a pact of the chain warlock to be able to re-summon Shovel right?

Shovel X Generic Quasit

I sold the scroll way back in Act 1, without using it. WHen I found out about Shovel I tried adding the scroll with Cheat Engine, but it only summons a generic Quasit, like the one from the warlock pact. Summoning Shovel might be tied to an specific location or trigger in the first act.

Tips to summon Shovel

1. Scribe the scroll to a wizard's spell book first. This allows two Shovel to be summoned instead of one and prevents accidental deaths blocking progress.

2. Summon Shovel via the wizard spell book, then only go through the whole dialogue with character you want to learn the summon Shovel racial spell with. Always choose the first option for dialogue unless it says "No, you will do no such thing" (choose second option instead when it appears).

3. Read the Necromancy book using anyone on the team (can be done before summoning Shovel)

4. Speak to Shovel again, he will either say something along the line with "Spellshite" or "Beefy". If he says "Beefy", either someone else already got the racial spell, or your character's class is not right. If the latter, respec and get a level in wizard or sorcerer or warlock and talk to Shovel again. 100.33.137.100 09:18, 25 May 2024 (CEST)

Got it on Wyll

I summoned the quasit with Wyll (warlock lv3, paladin lv1), went through his dialogue, then exited and interacted with the book with Wyll (previously only Tav interacted with the necromancer of thay). When I spoke with Shovel again, the dialogue was stuck on "tell you the truth see" and I didn't have the spell. However, after a combat encounter in which shovel took part and survived and after short resting the spell appeared in my hotbar as a ritual cantrip. Can no longer exploit scroll.

On the latest version of the game as of this post (4.1.1.5022896), with a wizard, it does not show up in the list of scrolls to scribe. I can still acquire shovel with a wizard, warlock or sorcerer. If I use the scroll with other classes it tells me that only a "magical shite" can call her, and says to bring her one and she'll teach them the spell. After getting the spell on a "magical shite" character, then speak with her using another character, I still get the initial dialog about being Shovel's new master and can even change her name, but they do not get the spell. It also appears that they've fixed the exploits to get the spell on two characters. MeanJim (talk) 00:13, 4 August 2024 (CEST)

I was still able to learn the spell on my Wizard by right-clicking it and there was a context menu item to "Learn Spell: 50gold") 24.27.42.172 19:23, 5 August 2024 (CEST)
