I'm used to seeing 3 Intellect Devourers, but recently found out that there are some camp scenes if you Long Rest twice as soon as you hit the beach. Since this also means that Shadowheart gets up and ends up at the Grove instead of unconscious on the Beach or at the door to the Ruined Temple, the game seems to compensate for this by removing one of the Intellect Devourers, as since I've started doing this, I've only found 2 instead of 3 there.
