Illithid Persuasion is a unique Illithid Power that allows one to impose their will onto others with the Brand of the Absolute through conversation. This ability is unlocked automatically.

Properties

During certain conversations just before dialog choices come up, the Narrator will stated "As the symbol glows, power courses through you. Authority." This means a character has the Brand of the Absolute and can be dominated mentally to submit to you. A DC 2 Wisdom check is usually required, though some interaction may require a higher DC. Despite the low check, a 1 or having a negative towards the check can still result in a failure. After being used, the character can not use this ability until their next Recharge: Long rest.

Notes and Trivia

In Early Access, the progression of your powers worked differently. Instead, your tadpole grew in power as you used Illithid Persuasion options in dialogue. Once you'd used Illithid Persuasion three times, you got a power unique to your Class. Some of these abilities were reworked into the current Illithid Powers.
