Mirror of Loss

From bg3.wiki
Revision as of 22:14, 9 September 2023 by Sedrethi (talk | contribs) (Modified the first sentence to include the Mirror of Loss found in Act II, within the Gauntlet of Shar, to help players differentiate the between two. Revised all instances of "attributes" to "Ability." Cleaned up and/or removed some text, some of which that was redundant.)

The Mirror of Loss is a large mirror found in both the Gauntlet of Shar at (X:-645, Y:-735) and the House of Grief at (X:-474, Y:-1650). The former is cracked and cannot be used for reflection, however the latter is functional and bestows a bonus and malus upon the user.

It is highly recommended for the player to prepare and save before interacting with the Mirror of Loss. Upon interaction, the player may attempt to pass both an Arcana (DC 25) and a Religion (DC 25) check access its benefits.

Once the player has passed both of these checks, they may surrender a memory to the Mirror of Loss to permanently gain +2 to an Ability of their choice, but become temporarily cursed with a -2 to another Ability. If you have read the Necromancy of Thay and acquired the Forbidden Knowledge condition, you may surrender it instead. The curse can be lifted by the Remove Curse spell or by taking a Long Rest.
