Dexterity is an Ability Score. It is your agility, reflexes, and balance.
Dexterity affects your Dexterity skills (Acrobatics), Sleight Of Hand, Stealth) and Attack Rolls so you become better at ranged combat. It also affects your Initiative and Armour Class.
