Notes

  • A character receives this condition when looting any item from the offering chests in the Stormshore Tabernacle Basement or when Killing Vicar Humbletoes.
    • Using the "Send To CHARACTER" option counts as that character having looted the chest if the character is in the current party.
  • This condition will replace Anointed in Splendour Anointed in Splendour if the character has received it. If deliberately acquiring the curse it is best to do so before making donations to the gods in the main Tabernacle.
  • The 'terrible envoy of the offended deity' will be a Deva, Djinni, or Cambion depending on the character who is afflicted.
    • The enemy will be a Deva for any character that is not a Cleric, if the afflicted character is a cleric then the type of enemy will be chosen based on the cleric's chosen Deity:
      • Devas: Shar (If Nightsong is freed), Bahamut, Corellon Larethian, Eilistraee, Garl Glittergold, Ilmater, Lathander, Mielikki, Moradin, Mystra, Selune, Tymora, Tyr, or Yondalla.
      • Djinni: Tempus, Helm, Oghma, or Kelemvor.
      • Cambions: Shar (If Nightsong is killed), Lolth, Gruumsh, Tiamat, Talos, Vlaakith, or Laduguer.
    • If the afflicted character dies or is cured via Remove Curse Remove Curse, one enemy is spawned. This will occur regardless of how many times the curse is received.
    • If the afflicted character is healed, takes a Short Rest or Long Rest before dying, two enemies are spawned. This will only occur once per character, regardless of how many times they receive the curse.
  • The debuff is received when looting just a single item from one of the chests. Splitting any stack of items (including gold) contained in the chests creates a new cursed item for each new item generated, as will adding items from your inventory to the chest. This means that without killing Vicar Humbletoes and individually splitting and looting each item on a different character, it is possible to inflict the debuff on 10 different party members using the loot contained within the chests. Additionally, any items or gold donated at the statues within the Stormshore Tabernacle will appear in these chests, making the number of times the curse can be applied limited only by the items and gold the party has. Simultaneously healing all affected party members in your camp will summon 2 enemies for each of them.
    • Spawning too many planar beings at once may crash your game.

  • Affected entity is cursed by transgressed and irritable gods. When it falls unconscious, it immediately dies. Moreover, when it dies, a terrible envoy of the offended deity is conjured from the entity's corpse.
  • Nearby NPCs may become hostile to the summoned enemies, resulting in the NPCs becoming temporary allies of the party. XP is still gained for any of the summons killed, and the party receives no penalty for NPC allies killed in this manner. This can be taken advantage of to clear an area by "Summon Bombing" it. For example the Basilisk Gate Barracks can be cleared in this manner.

Source

  • Should the party break into the basement of Stormshore Tabernacle and pillage any offering chests, they will gain this condition. Each item taken from a chest will inflict this condition if the character taking it doesn't already have the condition.
    • The curse is tied to the chest, not the items. Destroying the chests will cause the items to fall out, picking up the items afterward allows you to avoid becoming cursed.
    • The curse will only affect items taken out of the offering chests and placed in the current party's inventory. Sending the items to camp or to a character in camp will result in the curse being avoided.
