Notes

  • When Sneak Attack is applied automatically to a triggering attack via the reaction system, it is treated as a "DRS"
  • This ability will only fire 1 shot. If you are planning to go dual classing as rogue and ranger with dual hand-crossbows using sneak attack for more damage, you should be aware that sneak attack will not make use of the other crossbow.
  • It is possible to use sneak attack with consumable arrows, by setting sneak attack to occur as a reaction (with or without 'ask' selected). Due to confusion experienced by many players, the rest of this paragraph provides explanation. During a player's turn, clicking sneak attack and attempting to use consumable arrows such as Arrow of Fire will convert the ranged attack into a regular attack while still using that consumable arrow. However, when using sneak attack as a reaction, sneak attack damage will be converted into a damage rider (as noted above, similar to a modifier). This allows a player to use consumable arrows with sneak attack damage, provided that the conditions for a sneak attack are met. The sneak attack as a reaction will occur whether the player clicked to used a regular ranged attack as an arrow or whether the player clicked to use a sneak attack with a consumable arrow (which also converts into a regular attack). The sneak attack will be added as a damage rider, and in the log if one hovers over the sneak attack, one will see that the sneak attack damage was added after the consumable arrow damage as a reaction. Additionally, when sneak attack is used as a reaction, the player still retains their reaction resource for use during enemies turn, because sneak attack as a reaction does not use up that resource. The exception of sneak attack as a reaction not using up a reaction resource is noted on the Actions page.
