Intelligence is an ability score and the primary ability of wizards.

Intelligence affects your Arcana, History, Investigation, Nature, and Religion skills. It also improves spellcasting for wizards, fighters (especially valuable for Eldritch Knights), and rogues (especially valuable for Arcane Tricksters), by increasing the chance of hitting an enemy with spell attack rolls, due to the increased Difficulty Class of spells with saving throws.

Increases Intelligence

The following sources permanently increase a character's Intelligence score:

• Auntie Ethel's Hair permanently increases Intelligence by +1
• The Mirror of Loss permanently increases Intelligence by +2 (up to 24)

Decreases Intelligence

• Harmonium Halberd reduces Intelligence by -1
• Devilfoil Mask reduces Intelligence by -1 per nearby creature also wearing a mask
