Welcome to the Baldur's Gate 3 Wiki! We aim to provide a clean, detailed, up to date wiki for Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Studios. This is a shared community effort and everyone is welcome to join. You may want to read How to Contribute and maybe create an account. You can also join the bg3.wiki Discord so we can more easily coordinate our efforts. D&D 5th edition rules

Here's a quick reference of the core Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition rules as implemented in Baldur's Gate 3. See also: D&D 5e rule changes

Rolls
Initiative Initiative The roll you make to determine when it will be your turn at start of combat.
Attack roll Attack roll The roll you make to determine whether an attack hits an enemy at all.
Damage roll Damage roll The roll you make to determine the amount of damage done by a successful attack.
Saving throw Saving throw The roll you make to attempt avoiding various threats other than direct attacks.
Ability check Ability check The roll you make when attempting anything else that requires a roll to succeed.
Modifiers
Advantage Advantage Roll the dice twice, and use the higher result. Disadvantage is the exact opposite.
Ability score modifier Ability score modifier The number you add to your rolls based on your ability scores.
Proficiency bonus Proficiency bonus The number you add to your rolls based on whether you have proficiency.

Characters

Companions Companions: NPCs who can travel with you and appear at the Campsite.

Camp followers Camp followers: NPCs who stay at the campsite.

Campsite Campsite: Long rest, item storage, character interactions, and so on.

Deities Deities: The gods and goddesses in the Forgotten Realms setting.

This project is purely non-commercial and it will never show ads. It might ask for donations if it becomes pricey to host due to increased traffic or volume of file uploads.
