Well, I mean... kind of? It's a long story, honestly.

Permanently acquiring Shovel

https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Shovel_(familiar)

Notes

  • You can't learn to summon Shovel during the first conversation if you cast the spell from the scroll.
  • Some classes can learn it if they speak with Shovel after that. But not always and I haven't figured out why (yet?).
  • If a wizard scribed the spell and follows some dialogue rules, another caster can then also learn to summon Shovel permanently.
  • This worked with wizard, warlock and sorcerer - subclasses made no difference in my tests.
  • A character can temporarily respecc for this method and the spell stays available even when changing to a non caster again.
  • Sorcerer have class specific dialogue options when summoning Shovel from the scroll but none of them led to learning the spell
  • Warlocks can sometimes learn Shovel if he summons her from the scroll, disguises himself and talks to her again - that did not work consistently and needs further testing.
    • Wyll -> disguised Wyll ✖
    • disguised Wyll -> Wyll ✔
    • Wyll -> Wyll ✔
    • Random -> Wyll ✔
    • (Wild Magic) Sorcerer -> Wyll ✖
    • (Wild Magic) Sorcerer -> disguised Wyll ✖
  • Is it possible to rename Shovel after acquiring the permanent ability to summon her?
