Story items are Miscellaneous items which are quest specific. Normally these items further the plot of the story, allow the player to progress quests, or reveal important new information to the player.
Story items will sometimes lose their Story rarity when the quests related to them are completed, however this is not consistent and many items will retain Story rarity even after they are no longer of use.
