Background

Spoiler warning! This section reveals details about the story of Baldur's Gate 3.
As a powerful wizard, Gale gained the attention of the lady of mysteries, Mystra, who appointed him as a Chosen one. Gale had a brief romantic relationship with her, until the relationship was ended by Mystra. Determined to gain her affections back, Gale obtained a book containing a fragment of primal weave, which was locked away from Mystra. The uncontrollable magic lodged into Gale’s chest, and Mystra turned her back on the wizard. After the event, Gale needs to consume magical artefacts to appease the orb inside of his chest, or the orb will explode, ‘destroying a city the size of Waterdeep’.
Personality
Gale gives the impression of an arrogant or proud character, yet one who generally approves of good deeds, such as helping people and treating both animals and children well. He wants to solve conflicts with diplomacy and doesn’t like bloodshed or killing. He tends to ponder things intellectually and look at everything with a pragmatic view. Gale tends to be deceptive about himself and his history, often changing topics or asking the player to remain non-judgmental during his stories.
