Unknown Year
The Dukes of Baldur's Gate (1491–1492)
The book The Dukes of Baldur's Gate tells us who was on the Council of Four last year. It records Gortash's new position as Archduke, which happens in game. Presumably, then, "last year" is 1491. However, the events below are not specified and could have happened in 1491 or 1492. (or later, if we assume Baldur's Gate 3 spans more than one year).
- Duke Vanthampur dies.
- Grand Duke Ravengard dissappears during the Fall of Elturel.
- Lord Enver Gortash becomes a contender.
- Ravengard returns and endorses Gortash for Archduke
Dead Druid's Journal (~1440)
Described as "a handwritten journal, abandoned for some fifty years." Presumably no earlier than 1430 and no later than 1460.
- A druid records his first encounter with the shadow curse. [18]
Moonhaven Logbook (1372 or later)
The year of the Moonhaven Logbook is not given. However, the Apprentice's Journal is dated 3 Uktar 1371.
Further digging in the Apothecary will also dig up the Dark Journal which reveals the apothecaries past as a Red Wizard named Ilyn Toth. It explains why he goes to great pains to note whether visitors to Moonhaven are Thayan or not. The Dark Journal is also dated 1371. However, since this logbook refers to events in earlier months that are certainly after he has gotten established, it is probably not recorded in 1371 but a later year.
- 26 Eleasis — Calishite Merchant Oliver Synge arrives in Moonhaven [19]
- 27 Eleasis — Oliver Synge leaves Moonhaven [19]
- 7 Eleint — A possibly Rashemi stranger passes through Moonhaven [19]
- 14 Marpenoth — Three men in black armour pass through Moonhaven [19]
- 2 Uktar — Journeyman Hackett passes through Moonhaven [19]
- 30 Uktar — Moonhaven raised by soliders in black armour [19]
- 14 Nightal — The key gem of Necromancy of Thay goes missing. Apothecary suspects apprentice [19]
- 15 Nightal — Oliver Synge passes through Moonhaven without stopping [19]
- 18 Nightal — Apothecary apprentice disappears near well [19]
- 20 Nightal — Smoke on the horizon. Apothecary suspects a potential raid. [19]
Olam's Journal (start of the shadow curse)
Darkness is not a month, but since this journal does record events in chronological order it has been included. Presumably it is recording the days since the shadow curse was unleashed. He describes it as being as cold as the "Claw of Winter", so we can assume it isn't during Alturiak.
- Darkess 2 — Olam recalls how Ketheric's curse changed the land. [20]
- Darkness 5 — Olam calls his familiar Corvin to him. He searches the land.[20]
- Darkness 18 — Olam finds scrolls by the House of Healing, but doesn't dare enter. [20]
- Darkness 26 — Olam can bear his torment no longer. [20]
Waning Moon: Consignments
- 10 Tarsahk — Ketheric Thorm is informed by Thisobald Thorm that the Mason spoke out against him [21]
- 6 Flamerule — Thisobald is poisoned with truth serum, and confesses to poisoning drinks, Malus 'treatments', interrogations and more. His poisoner threatens to reveal it to the authorities unless bribed.[21]
- 23 Eleint — Harpers poison Ketheric Thorm. He survives, evidence of his immortality. [21]
