Overview

Background

Derryth and Baelen Bonecloak run Bonecloak's Apothecary in Baldur's Gate. Needing to restock on of the more popular and expensive items at their store, Noblestalk, they travelled to the Underdark.

The two set up a temporary camp in Ebonlake Grotto with a myconid colony, and Derryth sent Baelen off to collect the mushroom.

Interactions

Derryth can be found pacing at an encampment in the Myconid Colony Upon arriving to the western edge of the Myconid Colony, the player will find Derryth pacing about a mushroom field and grumbling about her missing husband, Baelen. When talking to her for the first time, the first thing she does is ask if the player has seen her husband. If not, she can be asked about Baelen which will reveal—alongside her low opinion of him—that she sent Baelen on an errand and he hasn't returned yet. She welcomes the player to look for him, but refuses to pay any ransoms if he is found and returned to her.

If Baelen is rescued, Derryth will begrudgingly thank the player and explain that she and her husband are in the Underdark collecting Noblestalk, a mushroom with incredibly restorative abilities. She needs it to save their shop in Baldur's Gate after Baelen nearly ran it bankrupt to pay for drink. If the player mentions that they found some Noblestalk, Derryth asks for it though she has nothing to offer in exchange. She will thank them if the player gives Derryth the mushroom and request that they visit her shop in The Gate — Bonecloak's Apothecary.

Act Three

If Baelin was rescued, he and Derryth may later be found at Bonecloak's Apothecary in the Lower City.

If not, Derryth will be running the store alone, melancholy when thinking of her late husband and lamenting that they both deserved better. She believes that Baelen's soul found its way to The City of Judgement, wasting away unclaimed as a faithless.

Otherwise, if Baelin was rescued and given nobelstalk, he will be running the store alone.

Lonely Derryth can be brought the cat Myshka who is in the alley beside Bonecloak's.

Notes

  • After being given the Noblestalk, Derryth mentions that she'll be on her way and informs her husband that they're leaving. Despite this, they do not actually leave Ebonlake Grotto during Act I.
