Talk:Main Page
Typo
There's a typo in the Gameplay section: "Die roll" should be "Dice roll"
(This not not actually correct, die is the correct singular word: https://www.grammarly.com/blog/dice-die/#:~:text=What%20is%20the%20meaning%20of%20die/dice)
Modern, more common, usage would suggest that "dice" is (or more accurately can be correct: https://www.grammarphobia.com/blog/2016/10/dice.html). Additionally, the main page (and the title of the page it links to) is named "Die Rolls" feels awkwardly pluralised. Multiple rolls of a single "die". When the article is about the presumed many rolls of the many dice players will likely encounter in a game. CiXwOw (talk) 07:18, 19 October 2023 (CEST)
Die is not used by Larian Studios that I have been able to find. Die is primarily a thing still in American grammar, but not so much elsewhere. IMO, dice would be most appropriate for this wiki based on the references in the game. - Addela's 2 cents
- I've changed it to "dice" now. Reasoning is simple:
- As a previous editor said, "die" is primarily a thing in American spelling, and the wiki uses British spelling.
- The game prefers the term dice to die.
- Dice can be both singular and plural, so it's grammatically correct regardless.
- I've moved the target page as well, which was even more warranted. Willowisp (talk) 02:58, 25 October 2023 (CEST)
Companion link image
This is more of a suggestion than a problem, but I'd propose not using Jaheira's picture for the companion link, as she can be somewhat of a surprise the new players. If pressed I'd propose either Wyll, Shadowheart, Gale or Astarion instead.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Guardian| Choices & Consequences
The Baldur’s Gate 3 Guardian stands as a symbol of moral ambiguity, presenting players with complex choices that transcend conventional notions of morality and rightness. Its role extends far beyond that of a mere character, challenging players to contemplate the implications of their decisions on a deeper level.
Tiny typo
In the "D&D 5th edition rules" table, in the right side of the "Advantage" row, "disadvantage" wants to be capitalized, as it's starting a new sentence.
