Rewards

  • Attempting the Religion Ability Check when reading the book will give you a Ray of Enfeeblement Scroll (even if the check fails).
  • If the player has the Sage background or Gale is in the party and succeeds the Religion check they will be become inspired and receive Secrets of the Sundering (1 Inspiration, XP based on character level).
  • If the player has the Acolyte background or Shadowheart is in the party and succeeds the Religion check they will be become inspired and receive Divinity Undone (1 Inspiration, XP based on character level).

Notes

  • The three names mentioned in the Investigation check are a possible reference to the Dead Three.
  • You can also lockpick the book from your inventory and then read it afterward, to get the Scroll of Ray of Enfeeblement, without any of the dialogue above. Difficulty Class: 10.
