Involvement
Vilhelm wanders back and forth in front of the sealed Ballroom doors of the Szarr Palace. Unlike other servants, he does not clean or rub anything, though he might utter phrases about it while stalking around.
Vilhelm is the only living servant of Cazador Szarr, who can speak to the party in a coherent way. Through various Deception or Intimidation rolls while talking to him, the player might find out how to get downstairs (particularly, about the 
Szarr Family Ring) and about Godey, who is in charge for keeping the doors shut throughout the ceremony.
If Astarion is in the party, Vilhelm will immediately recognize him and ask why isn't he attending the ritual.
The player can also ask Astarion about Vilhelm and other servants in the palace, particularly about their strange behaviour. The spawn will describe them all as "fanatics, here of their own free will and utterly devoted to Cazador <...>, idiots who brought this on themselves" [1].
Combat
If the party enters combat with the residents of the palace, Vilhelm will join them against the party. He and Varderola have the biggest chance to participate in combat in the Ballroom, as both are wandering about its door.

- ↑ In-game dialogue files for Vilhelm and other servants suppose, however, that they probably would have served their "new master" with the same ardour and humility. Alas, regardless of the Rite outcome, Vilhelm and his colleagues will inevitably be dead by the moment the party returns into the palace proper from the dungeon.
