Elerrathin's Home is a manor located in the Lower City of Baldur's Gate in Act Three. It serves as the home of Jaheira and her wards, who she considers to be her family. The basement of the building is a small lush cavern where Jaheira keeps supplies and her personal effects, including several very rare items.

Jaheira's Desk

The desk in Jaheira's office contains a pin-shaped hole that acts as the lock to her secret basement. The passage can be unlocked using a Harper pin, several of which can be found at throughout your journey:

Jaheira's Basement

Jaheira's Basement

The basement is a heavily trapped cavern. From the entrance there is a path to a small shed protected by various entrapped orbs. The traps won't go off if you have Jaheira present in your party, or can be disarmed by removing a crate from a nearby pressure plate.

The basement is inhabited by the Postmaster Badger and his messenger rats, who will give information on certain happenings around Baldur's Gate if you can speak with animals.

A key under a trapped bookcase unlocks a secret door hidden behind a bookcase. This is where Jaheira keeps some of her most private items. One of such is the Rite of the Timeless Body. After interacting with the scroll a dialogue with Jaheira is unlocked where she discusses her thoughts about duty, mortality, and her considerations of extending her life.

Jaheira's Wards

Fig

Fig acts as the home's "guard", stopping and questioning any new visitors. They spends their day practicing their swordsmanship against a dummy.

Jord

Jord watched over Jaheira's plants, letting the plants in her study grow unimpeded. Jaheira took Jord in as a ward when he was nine years old after a confrontation with a merchant.

Rion

Rion is driven to taking action and has taken a role of leadership amongst the wards in Jaheira's absence.

Jhessem

Jhessem is a small child that speaks with the decorum of nobility. They found a family tree of Jaheira that suggests that she may be royalty.

Tate

Tate is described as a little "Sneak Thief" by Jaheira. They keep to themselves upstairs, eavesdropping on conversations. Tate has the Pin needed to access Jaheira's Basement.

Notable Loot

Notes

  • If Jaheira dies before joining the party at the end of Act Two, the house will be empty, with neither her wards nor the animals in the basement present. This means the Harp-Shaped Pin cannot be obtained from Tate and must be found another way.
