The Brand of the Absolute

The Brand of the Absolute is an optional permanent bonus that leads to unique dialogue options and powerful item interactions. As of Full Release Patch 1, there are no major mechanical or story drawbacks to becoming branded, beyond a one-time disapproval for some Companions.

See Category:Absolute Equipment for a list of items that interact with the brand.

Becoming Branded

A character may become branded by speaking to Gut in the Shattered Sanctum. After branding you, she will attempt to mentally connect to your parasite and ask you to join her in her private chapel.

After this conversation, Gut will no longer offer to brand additional characters, but any number of party members may receive the brand by switching the active character and speaking to Warlock Greez.

Notes and Trivia

Concentration Icons.png Spoiler warning! This section reveals details about the story of Baldur's Gate 3.

The Brand of the Absolute is a combination of the symbols of the Dead Three: the black hand of Bane, the bloody skull of Bhaal, and the triangle-inset skull of Myrkul.
