Data collected by bg3.wiki
Bg3.wiki itself does not collect data about users beyond what is part of the normal operations of a web server and the MediaWiki software.
Server Logs
Web requests, which includes page visits, and the loading of related resources such as CSS or JavaScript code, images, etc., may be logged in private server logs.
These logs include the following information:
- Time and date of the request
- IP address from which the request originates
- The page or resource that was requested
- The "User-Agent" HTTP header sent by the user's device
- The "Referrer" HTTP header sent by the user's device
Such logs are usually kept on the server for up to a month. They are not shared with any third party, unless required by law.
MediaWiki Logs
Creating or editing pages, including the uploading of files (which creates a File page), results in the public logging of the action on the associated History page of the relevant page, as is standard practice with MediaWiki.
This public log contains the user name (if logged in) or IP address (if not logged in) of the user who performed the action, and the time and date on which the action took place.
These public logs are kept indefinitely as part of the MediaWiki database.
Third-party cookies from ad servers
Ads appearing on bg3.wiki may be delivered to users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you.
The cookies served by the aforementioned third-party ad servers are not governed by this privacy policy, but by the privacy policy of the respective partners. If ads are being served, then a link to the privacy policy of said partners will appear under this paragraph. The link will open a page or popup which also allows you to change your privacy settings.
