This is a glossary of acronyms, abbreviations and other obscure terms you might see either in-game or in discussions about Baldur's Gate 3. It's not meant to be a complete list, but it may be of aid if you ever see a term you don't understand.

- 5e: Short for Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition, the version of D&D the game is based on.

- AC: Short for Armour Class.
- ASI: Short for Ability Score Increase.
B
- BG3 / BGIII: Short for Baldur's Gate 3.
C
- CHA: Short for Charisma.
- CON: Short for Constitution.
D
- d4 / d6 / d8 / d10 / d12 / d20: Refers to a specific type of dice: a d4 is a four-sided die, a d6 a six-sided one, etc. 3d6 means you roll three six-sided dice.
- D&D / DnD: Short for Dungeons & Dragons.
- DEX: Short for Dexterity.
