The issue is there is, at level 6, the subclass feature [[Elemental Affinity: Resistance]] states that this is when you gain the matching resistance, as well as it not being a passive feature but a Reaction that costs a Sorcery Point.
In game, at level 1 character creation the term "Draconic Ancestry" is not shown as a passive feature, it is merely the description title when hovering over the ancestor selection. The description states it "can" give resistance, referring to the level 6 Elemental Affinity: Resistance.
