Shadowheart in her default armour

Shadowheart is a Half-Elf trickster domain cleric of Shar, who appears in Baldur's Gate 3 as a side character or origin character. She is also available as a companion.

Background

Shadowheart is a Half-Elf cleric of the goddess Shar. Before the events of Baldur's Gate 3, Shadowheart was a part of a small group of Shar worshippers who boarded the Nautiloid that attacks Baldur's Gate, prior to the beginning of the game. Her strike team is eliminated by the Mind Flayers, and she is captured. She can then be discovered by the player and potentially freed. If she is not freed from the Mind Flayer pod, she can later be found near the ruins of the crashed Nautiloid. Shadowheart carries a strange and powerful artifact, that she recovered from the Nautiloid.

Personality

Shadowheart is a neutral-evil or true neutral aligned character. She is reserved and hesitant to reveal information about herself, her motives, or the artifact she carries. She is often indifferent to the plight of others, however, she does not explicitly take pleasure in the suffering of others, and she will disapprove of certain actions deemed unnecessarily cruel or violent. She has a particular dislike of Githyanki such as Lae'zel.

Gameplay

As a cleric, Shadowheart is capable of casting spells, healing and buffing allies, and tanking damage for her party.
