While the ersatz eye is embedded in your eye socket, you can see through the tiny orb as though it were a normal eye. Can't be removed once inserted.

Effect
- If received through dialogue gives the player Volo's Ersatz Eye (Condition) - a permanent See Invisibility buff. Like the spell, this buff allows you to see creatures that are Invisible within 9 meters if they fail a
Dexterity saving throw. - Otherwise the item is a useless bauble.
Where to find
- As an item, the eye can be looted from Volo's corpse. However in order to gain See Invisibility buff, the player must undergo the surgery.
- Once Volo has been rescued (see the quest Rescue Volo), you may tell him to find you in camp.
- In camp, Volo can attempt to remove the player's tadpole via an experimental operation.
