Zariel is the archdevil ruler of Avernus[1], the first layer of the Nine Hells. Tieflings of her bloodline, the Zariel Tieflings, are empowered with martial strength and can channel searing flames.

Karlach was one of Zariel's prized soldiers.

She is credited with killing a horde of Yeenoghu's Gnolls.[3]
