Pouches don't protect them[edit source]
Contrary to the information given, at least as of the current patch (Oct 18th 2023, Hotfix #9) the blooms will wither if the player takes an action that is considered "leaving the Underdark" even if held in another container - I used a pouch as I had one spare, perhaps there was one in Filro's camp. I used the fairy ring to go to the Hag's lair from the Torchbloom valley and this killed the blooms. I also camped while in the Adamantine Forge, and even though the map implies you are camping within the Forge environment, it still counts as leaving the Underdark and the blooms die.
I haven't had that experience. I didn't even know they were intended to wither until I read this page, I've had them in my camp storage well into act two and nothing has caused them to wither thus far. BlackRoseXIII (talk) 08:49, 8 January 2024 (CET)
- I also have sussur blooms in my camp storage. They have not withered from there and still give the aura from within the chest.
To the two comments above - they wither the moment you take them out of your storage chest - so there is no reason to leave them in there, although I can think of a few battles in Baldur's Gate where they would certainly help. Also, I just tested this: "Sending these to camp will wilt the flowers, even when camping within the Underdark. When I left my 3 companions in the Underdark with the Sussur blooms in storage in camp and took myself to Emerald Grove, when I came back to the Underdark I was then able to safely take the blooms back out of the camp chest. Interesting![edit source]
Oddly enough - I sold the extra blooms to Derryth Bonecloak in the underdark and she still had the anti-magic field around her and the blooms for sale after arriving in Baldur's Gate. I did not try purchasing them from her - but I'll load a saved game (finished that run-through already) and see what happens. SidTheMadHatter (talk) 14:48, 21 February 2024 (CET)
