Damays is one of the Tiefling Rangers who has captured Lae'zel in Act One. He is found in the Wilderness alongside Nymessa.
Act One[edit | edit source]
After escaping the Nautiloid wreck on the Ravaged Beach, the party may encounter Damays and Nymessa. The two have captured Lae'zel and are discussing what to do with her. Damays wants to bring Lae'zel back to their camp, while Nymessa wants to leave her behind. Lae'zel will telepathically tell the player character to free her. This initiates .
A party member can convince Damays and Nymessa to aid them in killing Lae'zel, or to set her free by passing an Ability Check. If the interacting party member is a Drow, Drow Half-Elf, Duergar, or Githyanki, the Tieflings will attack out of fear. Their attack can be dissuaded by passing a DC 5 Intimidation check.
Before leaving, if the Tieflings were not dispatched through intimidation, the party can ask if they know of a healer. They will direct the party to Nettie, which updates and initiates .

Paladin - Deception: "Your quarry looks dangerous, but I've handled worse. Leave it to me, get to safety."
