Involvement[edit | edit source]

Vilhelm wanders back and forth in front of the sealed Ballroom doors of the Szarr Palace. Unlike other servants, he does not clean or rub anything, though he might utter phrases about it while stalking around.

Vilhelm is the only living servant of Cazador Szarr Cazador Szarr, who can speak to the party in a coherent way. Through various Deception Deception or Intimidation Intimidation rolls while talking to him, the party may find out how to get downstairs (particularly, about the Szarr Family Ring) and about Godey Godey, who is in charge for keeping the doors shut throughout the ceremony.

If Astarion Astarion is in the party, Vilhelm immediately recognizes him and asks why he is not attending the ritual.

The player character can also ask Astarion about Vilhelm and other servants in the palace, particularly about their strange behaviour. Astarion describes them all as "fanatics, here of their own free will and utterly devoted to Cazador <...>, idiots who brought this on themselves" [1].

Combat[edit | edit source]

If entering combat with the residents of the palace, Vilhelm joins them against the party. He and Varderola Varderola have the biggest chance to participate in combat in the Ballroom, as both are wandering about its door.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  1. Despite Astarion's scornful and dismissive observations, in-game dialogue files for Vilem and other servants suggests that they too would likely have served their "new master" with the same ardour and humility. Alas, regardless of the Rite outcome, Vilhelm and his colleagues inevitably die by the moment the party members return to the palace proper from the dungeon.
