Darkness is a level 2 evocation spell. This spell allows spellcasters to conjure a cloud of darkness in an area within range that obscures and inflicts blind to those within it.

Description

Create a cloud of magical darkness that Heavily Obscures and inflicts Blind to creatures within. Creatures cannot make ranged attacks into or out of it.

Details: Range: 18 m / 60 ft; Creates Area: Darkness (cloud); Concentration

At higher levels

Casting this spell at a higher level grants no additional benefit.

Notes

Drow, Drow Half-Elves, and Asmodeus Tieflings can only cast the spell once per Long Rest.
