False Life is a level 1 necromancy spell. This spell allows spellcasters to gain Temporary Hit Points.
Description
Bolster yourself with a necromantic facsimile of life to gain 7 temporary hit points.
Can only have temporary hit points from one source.

Upcast: Casting this spell at a higher level yields an extra 5 temporary hit points for each Spell Slot Level above 1st.Condition: False Life
Duration: Until Long rest

How to learn
Classes:
- Class Level 3: Arcane Trickster, and Eldritch Knight
- Class Level 6: College of Lore (via Magical Secrets)
- Class Level 10: Bard (via Magical Secrets)
Other ways to learn:
- Also granted to Warlocks who choose the Eldritch Invocation at level 2+. When gained in this way, the spell can be cast at will and doesn't expend Spell Slots.
Notes
- If a Wizard casts False Life on themselves, this spell must remain Prepared. Removing False Life from the Prepared Spells list will immediately remove the Temporary HP added by False Life. If applied by using (not scribing) a scroll, the caster does not need to keep this spell Prepared.
- The incantation for False Life is Dum Vita Est, Spes Est, Latin for "While there is life, there is hope".
