Not sure where to put it, but Bursting Brood is a STR attack roll rather than a DEX attack roll like everything else in the Spider pet's kit. Think this should be specified as the spider's dex is much higher than its str and this makes the attack much more inaccurate in practice than it may seem on paper.

Infested does not spread from Bursting Brood[edit source]

From my testing (patch 4) the Infested condition does not seem to spread to melee attackers nor to all nearby creatures upon death, if applied by Bursting Brood. Not sure if this differs from the ettercap condition.

Both the 1d4 poison and 1d4 piercing damage from Infested benefits from Companion's Bond and adds proficiency (4 at level 11) to their damage rolls. So it's actually 1d4 + 4 poison and 1d4 + 4 piercing damage from the piercing condition.
