Freecast is a Toggleable Passive Feature and an Illithid Power. This ability allows the character to not spend any spell slots, charges or any other similar resource cost for the next action per Long Rest.
Description
You have discovered a marvellous adaptability within yourself. Spell slots, charges, and similar resource costs for your next action or spell are removed. Refreshes after a Long Rest.
Properties
- Details:
- Recharge: Long rest
How to learn
Used by creatures: Partial-Illithid
Notes
- This Illithid Power, as of the writing of this article, is very buggy and may not automatically come back on a Long Rest.
- On top of that, if you have every equipment slot occupied in the character that has Freecast and proceed to unequip anything, Freecast will come back even if you had used it already and haven't Long Rested. In other words, you can infinitely use Freecast for every action out of combat. During combat, reequiping takes an action so you won't be able to cast during the same round.
- If an action takes more than one type of resource, e.g., Metamagic Quicken Spell with any spell that isn't a cantrip, both costs are removed.
