Creating this page because I've reached Z'rell once again, just arrived in Act Two with my latest playthrough (custom githyanki rogue + only lae'zel and hirelings).
Hey you, reader! Are you new to talk pages? If yes, I want to share something that often helps us keep them formatted nicely:
When you are done writing a reply, add four tildes at the end of your post. When you hit "post" this will insert a signature of who you are and when you made the reply! ~~~~ : Next, if you are replying to someone else, add a colon (:) and a space just before you type your reply. That way it will create a nice little indent that makes it easier for readers to see that your words are from a different speaker than the person who typed above. ~~~~
This blob of text makes it look like the following:
First person's reply (signature)
- Second person's reply (signature)
- Third person's reply (signature)

"Interactions" with Z'rell[edit source]
Hi all, as stated above, I am just getting to Act Two again and want to add more to Z'rell's page about the possible outcomes of her conversations.
The unique conversations or cutscenes that she appears in, that I know of, include:
- The automatic scene that plays when you first enter the "throne room" of Moonrise Towers. (There's multiple variants of this scene, including one for Decide Minthara's Fate.)
- After you "deal with the Goblins", you can meet Z'rell upstairs talking to that other necromancer lady. Then you have a chance to chat with Z'rell yourself. (I added a section for this on the quest page Infiltrate_Moonrise_Towers#Speaking_to_Z'rell)
- After the above conversation ends, you can always go back to Z'rell's "office" and talk to her there, with limited options.
- If you "side with Balthazar" so to speak, you can return to Moonrise Towers afterward and there's some options to continue speaking with her, but I haven't explored them much.
- If you "side with Jaheira" so to speak, you may have the option to speak to Z'rell if you run out in front of the Harper forces just before the combat encounter portion of Assault Moonrise Towers begins.
We don't have to add *everything* to the page, but I want to at least note down "unique experiences" that players might want to know about so that they can try exploring them. ArcaneFocus (talk) 18:09, 12 October 2023 (CEST)
Edit - I deleted the two additional "topic" sections I added because I think I'm overthinking it. ArcaneFocus (talk) 18:14, 12 October 2023 (CEST)
Scene 1: "Throne Room" / Ketheric and Z'rell Intro[edit source]
Use this space to note interesting combinations that occurred for you, that you think other players will want to know about. What I believe to be true about this scene:
- It can't be avoided if you want to meet Z'rell.
- Variations exist depending on which characters are present and being "judged" by Ketheric.
- Z'rell's (and Ketheric's, but remember this talk page is for Z'rell) lines are roughly the same, but with a few minor customizations depending on who is "being judged"
- Z'rell always tells you to kill the Goblins then come upstairs to see her when its done.

Scene 2: "After you deal with the Goblins"[edit source]
Use this space to note interesting combinations that occurred for you, that you think other players will want to know about. What I believe to be true about this scene:
- You find Z'rell upstairs after resolving the "Goblins" conversation.
- There's no way to avoid resolving the "Goblins" - but you can let them go, kill them yourself, or cause them to kill themselves.
- Z'rell will always try to use her parasite to "dig in your thoughts" to see how you handled the goblins. You can find ways to hide your true feelings.
- Z'rell treats you differently depending on how you dealt with the Goblins, and/or what she "saw" in your mind, or thinks that she saw depending on how you resolved that.
Interesting combinations I've observed:
- Her dialogue can get flirty -- she mentions enjoying "dealing with her underlings physically" and I've had equally flirty response options when playing as a Bard or a Rogue.
- Rogue gets some thieves cant' themed response options.
- There is sometimes an option to "hide your thoughts" using "your romantic desires" but it's not always clear if that is implied to be towards Z'rell or just because the game didn't have another logic flag to use. It's possible to enter Act Two without being in a romance, technically.
- If I remember correctly, she can straight up become hostile if she finds out you didn't kill the Goblins, and then basically blow your cover as someone who is spying on the cult.
