Elminster's Appearance
Some slight info on Elminster and when he appears - I have a playthrough where I did nothing else but kill Karlach then run to the Mountain Pass, avoiding the triggers for Gale's Arcane Hunger (he gets hungry if you visit certain locations, like the Goblin Camp, even without long resting). At any rate, I hadn't fed Gale at all before entering the Mountain Pass, and Elminster was not at the Rosymorn Monastery Trail. I had Gale in my party as I did the trek and the game basically triggered his Arcane Hunger at warp speed. He literally got the condition twice before finishing the convoy, then another time once we entered the Last Light Inn.
I did a long rest and Elminster appeared at camp to wake up my player character, then the event proceeded as it normally does. Here are some screenshots to prove it:
If anyone wants to replicate this, it's very simple: Make a new character, recruit Gale, leave him out of the party and try to avoid long resting as much as possible, and book it to the Mountain Pass (either take the Goblin Camp entrance or Githyanki patrol area, it shouldn't matter). Go down the trail and Elminster won't be there, then go into the Shadow-Cursed Lands, speed feed Gale the magic items, and then long rest until it's triggered (I got the Mizora scene first, then Elminster immediately after).
