- Can be prevented by
Khalid's Gift.
- Cantrips and spells that use class resources (such as ) do not trigger the damage, as they inherently do not have levels.
- Spells cast for free thanks to features like will still be treated as being cast at the chosen level.
- If fast travelling to another area before leaving the Lair, such as Rivington, Spell Rot will not be removed.
- Although Astarion is not generally considered Undead with respect to most effects, he does appear to be immune to this condition.
