Bane, also known as the Lord of Darkness, is the God of Tyranny, Hate, Strife and a member of the Dead Three. He is associated with the domains of Order and War. Bane cannot be the deity of a player Cleric.

Revelations

Act Two

Enver Gortash is revealed to be Bane's Chosen. In the Mind Flayer Colony underneath Moonrise Towers, Gortash is accompanied by Orin the Red and Ketheric Thorm. Using his Netherese Stone, the Edict of Bane, he issues the order to the Netherbrain to march the Absolute's armies on Baldur's Gate.

Act Three

If Enver Gortash is fought, he can call to Bane for aid and Bane will transform Gortash into the Avatar of Tyranny Avatar of Tyranny. If Speak with Dead Speak with Dead is used on Enver Gortash, Bane will respond in his stead claiming that Gortash's soul is now suffering at his hands for failing him.

  • Bane was originally available as a deity for Cleric in Early Access, but the option was cut in the full release of the game.
    • Much of the dialogue a Cleric of Bane has remains intact, and can be accessed with mods.
  • Bane is allies with Bhaal and Myrkul.
