* All versions and variants of the Find Familiar spell are mutually exclusive; a character can only have one familiar summoned by any Find Familiar spell at a time, including special summons like [[Find Familiar: Cheeky Quasit|Shovel]] and [[Find Familiar: Scratch|Scratch]], the {{RarityItem|Raven Gloves}} spell {{sai|Summon Quothe the Raven}}, and the additional options granted to a {{class|Warlock}} with {{sai|Pact of the Chain}}. Casting another version of the spell will dismiss any currently summoned familiar.
* The {{class|Ranger Beast Master}} feature {{sai|Summon Companion}} is separate to Find Familiar, and can be active at the same time.
* Familiars can drink elixirs and potions by having someone else place elixirs/potions out of their inventory and then have the familiar drink it from the ground by right-clicking them, or by drinking it directly from a companion's inventory as long as the elixir/potion isn't inside a container.
* Even though familiars can drink elixirs, increasing their [[Strength]] serves no purpose since their attacks will '''always''' use [[Dexterity]].
